Gob Squad - the biography
The Danish punkrock group Gob Squad started playing as a 2-piece-band with Sogge and Thomas in the summer of '96, heavily influenced by such bands as Rancid, Operation Ivy and NOFX.
In 1997 Stauning and Flemming joined and the band spend a couple of years covering their idols, playing a few shows, writing songs on their own and recording the first demo cd-
In 1999 Flemming left the band and Terp joined. The band recorded some more demo cd's and played more shows. They developed a skill for writing catchy and infectious songs that quickly got better as the band grew tighter musically, growing towards a heavier and thicker rock sound.
In 2001 Gob Squad toured Germany for the first time supporting American skapunkers Big D And The Kids Table. Besides that the band was invited to play at the famous Roskilde Festival in Denmark and got 5 outta 6 stars in the official review.
Gob Squad has the reputation as an outstanding live act. In 2003 Gob Squad started touring more heavily and since then they have toured extensively every year. Now reaching over 250 live shows spread across Germany, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Austria and Switzerland gaining them tremendous live experience and thus enabling them to put on an unforgettable live show packed with energy and attitude. Look out for them hitting a town near you. They mean business!!!
In 2004 Gob Squad signed with German Horror Business and Belgium Eye Spy Records who co-released the debut album Call For Response. The release was followed by heavy touring activities all over Europe.
In 2005 Gob Squad signed with German label Wolverine Records and released their second full length record Far Beyond Control. A fitting title to a record packed with full blown hardrocking songs combining melodic Punk with Rock N' Roll and Hardcore. This captures the intensity of their infamous live shows better than ever while retaining a great and rich sound that craves attention from the listener. Gob Squad have made their best record to date taking their sound one step forward while maintaining their well known melodic aggressiveness.
In 2006 Terp left the band and Jimmy joined. During the summer 2006 Gob Squad signed with danish CPH Sound, who is releasing their 2 albums in Denmark on september 4th and the rest of Scandinavia later on.
The fall 2006 was spend touring more than ever. Gob Squad kicked off their Denmarktour at Fredericia Hardcore Festival in August. In September and October Gob Squad supported danish hardrockers Volbeat all over Denmark. Gob Squad will also hit the lovely German autobahn supporting The Movement. Besides that Gob Squad played at the Popkomm Festival in Berlin.
Winter and spring 2007 was spend playing a few shows in Denmark and doing a 5 dates tour to Baltikum. Besides that the band focused on writing new songs for the 3rd Gob Squad album. The guys will hit the studio in august. Watch out for an early 2008 release and more touring

Curious - New Wave / Gothic / Indie
Curious were founded in summer 99 by Olli (vocals), Suzie (drums) and Moci (bass guitar). Together with some competent comrade-in-arms Curious first of all gained experience by covering several songs of the indie heroes The Cure, OMD and the Chameleons. The highlight and also the end of those cover time was playing as support act for gothrock legend The Mission at Zeche Bochum, Germany in November 2000.
In the following year and being joined by Marie (keyboards) and Patrick (guitars) Curious totally concentrated on songwriting. So, after several gigs (amongst others with Escape with Romeo and at the Secret Garden Festival in Hannover in 2002, the band produced their 4 track demo ep Falling. Falling can so be seen as first result of that Curious typical sound.
In 2003 Curious continued celebrating their live presences which offered the possibility to present themselves to bigger audiences. Ecspecially the gigs together with Mark Burgess (Ex Chameleons) and the gig at "Bielefeld rockt" (a huge festival with the best bielefelder bands in all music styles) were outstanding. Moreover Marco (guitars) finally completed the band line up, Patrick left the band . This time had been invited for quite a lot of radio interviews.
So it happened that the record indie label Genetic Music showed great interest in a cooperation with Curious and in winter 2003 the recordings for the first full time album started and were finished in early summer 2004. In July 2004 then "The intimate Stranger" was published, the album can e.g. be obtained via SX Distribution, Amazon, Infrarot, Indietective, Strobelight, Martz, Modern Entertainment etc.The intimate Stranger contains 9 great catchy songs which should most likely be compared to that classic eighties guitar wave sound with its melancholic and groovy atmosphere.
In October 2004 the Cure Tribute Sampler "Other voices" has been published by Equinoxe Records, while Curious contribution to that was their cover version of "Siamese Twins" (Pornography).
Their first contact with the TV Curious had at November23, 2004 : The TV Station "WDR" broadcasted a clip about Curious in order to advertise forthcoming gigs of them.
In 2005 loads of Promotion dates and gigs of course - followed and not to forget several sampler contributions concerning the actual album. Without doubt another highlight had been Curious support for the Dutch cult band "The Essence" in October 2004 (Hagen).
And regarding present and future : at the moment the latest new Curious song "Thrill B"is quite causing sensations. The new album "Arrythmia" is coming soon at 14th of november, you can listen to first demo songs "Resurrection", "Slowly Decaying" and "Thrill B".

They show a rather commercial Cubaton, however, they create the catchy tunes of Cuba and these are played everywhere day and night. Frontman Baby, Yoandys Lores Gonzales, also named "Lores" is a 22-year-old professional musician, songwriter, composer and arranger who also plays percussion instruments besides the piano, bass and guitar.

1985 the singer Andy Cay and the drummer Achim Jaspert met in a rehearsal room in Münster accidentally. Because of mutual sympathy they both decided to found a band: Split Mirrors were born. This band combines Jasper's experiences of his percussion-study in India and Cay's past life as a singer in the USA. Influenced by their friends Alphaville from Münster and by the melancholic song of the Pet Shop Boys they started their creative work. After short time many gigs in the inland and also abroad followed, some maxis and and the album "1999" were produced. The debut-single "The Right Time" became a hit of the New-Pop-wave at the end of the 80s.
After the first successes Andy and Achim attended to the aid of new talents. They took on the songwriting and composing for young artists and international interpreters. Their work got very successful (over 2 mio. sold albums, some gold-albums). Achim Jaspert: "We've learned to center contents and feelings." At the millennium they got back to their musical roots. The experiences and new inspirations of the last years led to a reunion of the band, which was never broken. With the remix of "Voices" they started a new musical cycle in the beginning of 2000. In the new, so far not published tracks you can recognize adventures of many club-tours in London and New York. Split Mirrors are going to produce the LP, that is long expected by their multinational fans, as well as cooperations with English and German Club-DJs. "The mutual influence of songstructures of the pop-music and of the current dance-music with patternbasics is enormous", says Andy Cay.
