Born Daniel Mutoka Mukangai on February 1st in Western region of Kenya. He adopted the name Danny Wailer due to the struggles that he undergone expecially growing up as an orphan. He is the only boy and last born among 6 sisters. His father, Reuben Mukangai, was a charcoal seller, and his mother, Joyce Lizabe, was a simple business woman.
He lost both parents at a young age and was raised by his maternal uncle eventually himself. He attended Seed of Hope Academy for primary education and Bulupi Secondary School.
He was inspired by king of reggae Bob Marley to pursue reggae music considering it as the right way of expressing his feelings, struggles and rejections he faced growing up as an orphan. He embraces Rastafari I faith in his search for truth. He's a devoted Rastafari I who practices Ital way of living( no flesh on his table) and also doesn't take alcohol nor smoke cigarettes as he considers it as destruction according to Rastafari I culture and beliefs. Love and respect for one another is his simple way of living. As per the philosophies of Rastafari I, he lets his hair grow, as he vowed a vow of a nazarite according Numbers Chapter 6.
