STRATA was set up as Printing House in 1995. Thanks to abilities to print on demand it entered successfully the market of academic press. Later in response to growing trend among academic circles to publish and distribute scientific titles STRATA started publishing activities. After a while following the market's demand STRATA's focus was shifted from highly academic to popular science literature.
