Cornelius Blattner was born 1961. He graduated from classical music studies (piano) and gained further towards jazz. In Havana he aquired his knowledge of the playful complex rhythms of the Caribbean (salsa, latin, jazz). His compositions ranges from more classically oriented, solo piano pieces about jazz songs to small ensembles and salsa tunes with groovy polyphonic horn sections, orchestral pieces and choir pieces. Like that he connects baroque compositional techniques with contemporary sound perception.
