Abelardo Galang II was born in Manila, Philippines, and studied at the University of the Philippines, at the Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, and at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin. His first CD, in which he performs works by Schumann and Chopin, was published in 2004. »Kundiman«, a collection of Filipino art songs, followed in 2008 with bass baritone Jonathan de la Paz Zaens.
